Public Health Order Update

Dear Parents,

For the past month, I’ve been working behind the scenes with Francis Awerkamp, House of Representatives, and Dr. Dee McKee, our County Commissioner, to assure that we are able to make decisions at a school level regarding our Back-to-School plan. Francis reached out to the Attorney General’s office for an opinion on this matter. Following the Attorney General’s opinion, Francis and Dee aided in passing Public Health Order Number 8. This health order resolves that any private K-12 school in Pottawatomie County has the ability to make local decisions through our school board as relating to mitigation practices for COVID-19. A huge thank you is extended to Francis and Dee for taking the time to help us through these uncharted waters!
