COVID-19 Executive Order Update

by | Jul 23, 2020

Dear Flint Hills Christian School Families,

As many of you may know, yesterday, July 22, Governor Laura Kelly’s executive order 20-58 to delay the opening of schools was rejected by the State Board of Education. Had the executive order been approved, private schools that do not hold accreditation from the state (which includes Flint Hills Christian School), would not have been subject to its provisions. All of that to say, we are planning to start school on August 19th.

Governor Kelly also signed another executive order 20-59 titled, “Requiring COVID-19 mitigation procedures in K-12 schools.” We are currently seeking counsel from our local government authorities to fully understand and determine the significance of the executive order 20-59 for our school. In the meantime, our Back-to-School Task Force continues to meet and work diligently to prepare for a safe and effective restart of school. We should have more information to update you next week. Thank you for your continued patience.

Sincerely,

Joshua Snyder, Principal
